Book Review: A Message of Flower by Rachel Walter

Hello everyone!

A few days ago, I participated in the cover re-reveal for A Message of Flowers by Rachel Walter!  Today I come forth to you with a quick, yet honest review :). So hang on and I hope you enjoy my thoughts!

—————————–

I had read this book as a beta nearly a year ago. It’s  a beautifully written story. What I loved the most about this book wasn’t the romance or the plot (WHICH BY THE WAY IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM ALL NA), but the characters: Georgina & Corbin.  I also loved learning about what the message for each of the flowers mean.

Georgina is a strong and independent woman that knows what she wants. She’s a bouquet shop owner that isn’t easily intimidated by the likes of others. Corbin is a hard working, romantic main lead that complimented Georgina’s personality quite well.

Overall, this was an enjoyable, short read that had a slice of romance, a dash of suspense, and characters that worked really well!

Almost 4 stars!

 —————————

ABOUT the BOOK!
White Carnations – pure love, sweet and lovely.
Daisy – Innocence, beauty, simplicity.
To florist, Georgina Nickols, every flower has a meaning and a purpose. Flowers are something she knows, lives, and breathes. But when they start mysteriously showing up on her porch, she’s unsure of their meaning, and of who is leaving them.
What do these flowers mean to the messenger?
An old friend from high school, Corbin Waylay, moves back to town. When he shows up, he stirs up all kinds of trouble for Georgina. Her life-long friend, Sid Trail, hates him and makes that fact clear to Georgina. But despite the warnings from her friend, she just can’t help the feelings that resurface. The feelings she hasn’t felt for anyone since high school graduation, the feelings that only Corbin can induce.
As Corbin moves closer into her life, it causes a rift between her and Sid. The mystery flowers continue to appear and begin to add to the stresses of life.
Love, secrets, pain, and lies surround Georgina, putting her trust to the test.
When the messenger is finally revealed, will the meaning of the flowers be enough to repair the damage of those hidden secrets?
Forget Me Nots – Remember me forever, good memories, hope.

Single Red Rose – I love you.

Book two of the Heirs of War series is right around the corner! Heirs of War, Crown of Flames is set to be released this summer, and we have the first look at the cover for the book today! If you haven’t already read Heirs of War, it is on sale this week for $0.99 cents from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, and other retailers. Here’s what you have to look forward to in book two:

Weeks have passed since Ariana and Alec escaped from Kellen’s dungeon, but danger isn’t far behind them. As they travel through unknown lands and encounter multiple threats, their biggest challenge might be trusting one another.

Despite the danger and the war closing in around them, all of Anscombe seems to be more interested in the upcoming Imbolc festival than rescuing Ariana. Well, not everyone

Tired of waiting for the Duillaine to help her twin, Zelene starts plotting on her own and finds a surprising ally in Rhaya, even as the Cynewards prepare to make a move of their own. But Zelene’s plans go awry when she finds herself with a new ability, a mysterious new friend, and more enemies within the walls of Anscombe than she thought.

That News I wanted to share… It’s here :)

Good Morning lovelies!

I know I’ve been completely absent on blog anyways for quite a few months. I promise I have a great reason for it.

See a few months ago, something really amazing happened that’s caused my absence online and more time sleeping…

You ready to hear the news? And of course, what better way than to share my news than with my favorite Winchester brothers?

Well here it goes… in…

2…

1…

The Kanaparti family is expecting a new little bundle of screams, giggles and a whole lot of diaper changing come Summer 2014!!! Yes my amazing friends, Raj and I are going to be parents again and Jay is going to be a Big Brother. The official due date is: July 28th!!!

AHHHH!

I gotta say, the Mr. and I had the best and most surprising news the day after thanksgiving.

We wanted to wait until I’m in my second trimester before sharing this wonderful news with the rest of the world.

Now as for you wondering what this really means to my writing life… here’s a quick rundown!

Originally, I planned on:

Finishing up (aka edits):

Dracian Legacy (Dracian-Book, #1)

Dracian Origins (Dracian-Book, #2)

Forever Kinda Love (Mature YA Contemporary Romance)

Butterfly Pieces (NA Contemporary Romance)

Writing new stories:

Dracian Revolution (Dracian-Book, #3)

A brand spanking new YA-SCI-FI futuristic story that involved Aliens and revolution and tons of action

Another NA novel that involves kidnapping and romance :).

Finish up a co-authoring project set in Post-apocalyptic times – the co-author is a secret for now ;)

But since I’ve been pregnant, I’ve been sleeping A LOT.

I can’t stay up late working on things like I used to. It’s the sleep is my new best friend. So, instead of having 5 books completed and 4 ready to be edited, I’ll only have completed 6. Please see below for scheduled release dates :):

Finishing up (aka edits):

Dracian Legacy (Dracian-Book, #1) – Release 2/25/2014

Dracian Origins (Dracian-Book, #2) – Release 7/2014

Forever Kinda Love (Mature YA Contemporary Romance) Release 10/7/2014

Dracian Revolution (Dracian-Book, #3) – Sometime 2/2015

Butterfly Pieces (NA Contemporary Romance) Release 7/2015

Draft up the Sekret project with my amazing secret co-author ;). 10/2015

So hope all that clears up what I’ve been up to these past few months. Thank you again for your amazing support and patience as I continue to bake up this baby inside me and the stories in my head!

COVER REVEAL: Star-Crossed by Luna Lacour

Star-Crossed
Release Date: January 2014
Summary from Goodreads:

Secrets

Deception
Lies
…Lust.

It started with a game – seduce the new teacher.

Eighteen-year-old Kaitlyn Laurent is living the American Dream. Born into a
wealthy, socialite family with more opulent surroundings and material things
than any girl could even fathom, Kaitlyn is the fresh, young face amidst a sea
of morally-amiss Manhattan Debutantes. She is educated, poised, and on the
outside – entirely virtuous. Her life, in short, is perfect.
Or so it would seem.
Inside the walls of her Upper East Side mansion, Kaitlyn is struggling. After
her parents’ divorce and her father’s remarriage to a beautiful but otherwise
utterly vapid woman, Kaitlyn quickly finds herself living in a realm of
self-created fantasy, completely detached and entirely clashing with her new
family – particularly, her classmate-turned-stepbrother, Marius. Arrogant and
with a penchant for playing games, he is intrigued and infatuated by Kaitlyn’s
faux-chaste outer facade that she uses to cover an otherwise calloused heart.
When the two of them enter into into their final semester at Trinity Prep, and
the buzz around campus is that a gorgeous new teacher has set foot in the
classroom, Marius makes Kaitlyn a bet: seduce the man who is now her Literature
teacher.
If she wins, she gets his trust fund. Money that she can use to finally escape
a life that she has come to loathe.
If Marius wins…he gets her virginity.
When an initial spark turns into full-blown obsession, and her affections are
inevitably returned – Kaitlyn learns that there are no actions without
consequence, and some affairs are simply star-crossed.
